Dr. D. Van Der Hout
Dr Van Der Hout is a graduate of McMaster Medical School and has practiced Family Medicine since 1981. Early in his career he worked in the Emergency Dept. of the York Finch Hospital for a few years. He was on staff at York Finch/ Humber River for most of his career.
He worked in The Complex Continuing Care Unit at The Toronto Grace Health Centre (Hospital) for 36 years. He was Medical Director there for 17 years as well a member of the Board for 20 years and a member of the Board of the Hospital Foundation for 7 years. In addition, he served on and chaired several hospital committees.
His other work has included being a Designated Medical Practitioner for Health and Welfare Canada doing Immigration assessments for 17 years, being a roster Physician for Workmen’s Compensation doing Non-Economic Loss Assessments for 17 years, Long Term Care physician at Yorkview Life Care Centre for 3 years and being a Clinical Investigator in several pharmaceutical studies.
